![]() ![]() …with that being said, let me welcome you to just one of the many side-campaigns that Borderlands 2 has to offer: Captain Scarlett & her Pirate’s Booty. This DLC takes place on a new map as the Vault Hunters go out in search of Captain Blade’s Treasure of the Lost Sands- a legendary bounty which was hidden by a magical compass and guarded by a great beast. The story recounts of how several Pirates searched far and wide for this treasure, but none ever succeeded. Eventually you are thrown into the Town of “Oasis” which is under attack of Pirates. You are asked by a mysterious man to take care of these menaces, and once you kill them all, the man introduces himself as Shade. Shade is a resident of Oasis and the only one there that did not die of thirst. He is so lonely that the people who died in Oasis, he stuffed their bodies, and set up speakers with recorded tapes to give them all different personalities. While doing some quests for him, you are then summoned by the great Captain Scarlett. She understands that you are also looking for the legendary treasure and she proposes that the two of you work together since she also wants the treasure. To seal the deal, she lets you in on the fact that she already owns one piece of the compass and knows where another piece is located. There are four pieces total before the compass can be used and the treasure is revealed. While she makes it known that she will probably stab you in the back once all is said and done, for the time being, you are to go out and search for what compass pieces remain. There are still bounty boards, side-quests, and other things to do. But this DLC introduces new enemies, new areas, a new vehicle, and new characters while bringing in some familiar faces as well. The gameplay is no different than the main campaign of the game. You still have your 4 weapons to swap between, there are no new powers or anything else to worry about. Raid bosses produce what is known as “Seraph Crystals”, and these crystals can be used for special upgrades.ĭifficulty is determined by party size (the campaign itself at the hardest gets to level 30), and there are extra quests (raid bosses) that do require multiple people to face if you want to go the extra mile once you have beaten the DLC. The side-quests are just fetch quests as per usual. The only exception to this, are the messages in bottles scattered across the DLC map. Per every new region visited, there will be a message in a bottle that points to one of Captain Blade’s stashes. #Borderlands 2 captain scarlett dlc legendary weapons series.
